Low-Carbon Seminar Successfully held in Chongqing University(图文)

  On 11th, October, the event, low carbon seminar which jointly organized by DEM, Runhouse urban design and planning institute , Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Chongqing University and Faculty of Urban Construction and Environmental Engineering, Chongqing University, was successfully held in Chongqing university. The theme of event is confirmed around “low-carbon solutions- right choice”. Hundreds of experts, scholars , interested groups as well as students participated in this event.

    As a part of  “B2B program”  funded by Danida,  the event objective is also focusing on promoting the development of developing countries on sectors of economy and society, reducing the poverty level at the same time. Besides, B2B program regards such sectors as renewable energy, building EE as their supporting areas, as well as encouraging a partnership between Danish and Chinese background enterprises.

    Moreover, the keynote of event is willing to convince more and more architects, participants relevant to building sector into contribute building EE sector, put the EE, environmental preservation as first priority even if the contradiction in economic boom and natural resources is becoming more intense.

    The guests who attended opening ceremony included Mr Liu Qing(vice president of CQU), Ms Li Liqun (Danida programme coordinator, The Danish Embassy Beijing),  Mr Hans Halskov, (Consul, The Danish Consulate Chongqing),  Mr Li Baizhan(Dean of Faculty of Urban Construction and Environmental Engineering, Chongqing University) and Mr Henrik M?ller (Chongqing NRGE Power Solutions Co, China).

    Organized corporate reps who from DEM and Chongqing urban design and planning institute addressed presentations and speech during meeting time.

    The objectives of event involved in five principals and included  renovation of low-carbon buildings,      advanced software; technical resolution in building energy efficiency; Passive design strategy in buildings- selection of technical measures and energy simulate tool ; the challenges of  implementing low-carbon buildings in china and how to integrate renewable energy into buildings. All experts from Denmark and Runhouse shared a good deal of advanced achievements and experiences in international EE market with all audiences. In addition to formal presentations, we also organized a competition link for students, a very active interaction finally delivered between students and experts.

    In the past over 30 years with the development of our opening-up and reform policy over past 30 years, a great changes have been taken place in Chinese urban and rural areas, many new buildings were built up during this period. Nowadays china is the biggest building market yet and has a enormous potential in green, low-carbon buildings, especially building energy efficiency. Thus, the successful implementation of this seminar could generate a strong driving power and inspirations to all participants in building energy efficient sector and encourage them paying more attention on popularizing environmentally friendly theories like green, low-carbon and passive design.
